Everything Falls

The Great Roman Empire
The Ottomans too
They screwed up this world
Through a crusade or two

King Louis the Seventh
Henry the Second
Bright as new buttons
Sit rotting in heaven

Legacies last
If we honour the past
But everything falls
And the fat lady laughs

Notre Dame
Notre Dame!
I see you collapse
Notre Dame
Notre Dame!
A wish you were here
Postcard from the past.
