No We're Not

No were not, no were not
No were not fit now
All the banks have shut up shop
Moved themselves way off shore
Said so long, it sure was nice
Moved themselves to paradise
Theyve had our cake theyve had their slice

No were not, no were not
No were not rich now
No more loans, no more subs
No more ads imploring us
To make hay, while it shines
No more debt up to our eyes
Ocean seemed like such nice guys

No were not, no were not
No were not free now
Theyve made themselves, insolvent
But still they chase me for the rent
I owe the man who works att he bank
Who owes the government for the cash
That they loaned, from my tax
Its all just a little bit too mad
Never a lender or borrower be
If you want your sanity

No were not, no were not
No were not to blame now
Were not the ones who played futures games
Were not the ones who made the mistakes
We just want a living wage
And a little bit for our old age
And though I want, economic relief
I dont want to sell my teeth

No were not, no were not
No were not to blame now.
