No We're Not

No we’re not, no we’re not

No we’re not fit now

All the banks have shut up shop

Moved themselves way off shore

Said so long, it sure was nice

Moved themselves to paradise

They’ve had our cake they’ve had their slice

No we’re not, no we’re not

No we’re not rich now

No more loans, no more subs

No more ads imploring us

To make hay, while it shines

No more debt up to our eyes

Ocean seemed like such nice guys

No we’re not, no we’re not

No we’re not free now

They’ve made themselves, insolvent

But still they chase me for the rent

I owe the man who works att he bank

Who owes the government for the cash

That they loaned, from my tax

It’s all just a little bit too mad

Never a lender or borrower be

If you want your sanity

No we’re not, no we’re not

No we’re not to blame now

We’re not the ones who played futures games

We’re not the ones who made the mistakes

We just want a living wage

And a little bit for our old age

And though I want, economic relief

I don’t want to sell my teeth

No we’re not, no we’re not

No we’re not to blame now.
